Sangeeta Reddy

Born in 1955 in Hyderabad, Sangeeta Reddy is a painter and writer who migrated to the U.S. in 1978 and now lives in Denver, Colorado. She studied English literature and philosophy at the University of Mumbai. Her mixed media abstractions, inspired by 5th-century philosopher Sankara’s concept of Brahman, incorporate deconstructed Devanagari calligraphy. Drawing from Indian textiles, Van Gogh, Cezanne, Picasso, and Abstract Expressionists, her work bridges cultural and philosophical traditions, reflecting a unique fusion of Eastern thought and Western art history.
