Mayadhar Sahu has done his Bachelor's in Sculpture from B K College of Arts & Crafts, Bhubaneswar, and Master's in Sculpture from MSU, Baroda, The need to document and preserve the cultural wealth of India, was spurred by the folk story that he came across while visiting the traditional markets in Vadodara, that story stayed with him, and he carries it like a reminder of his larger callings. Carving life out of marbles, woods and metals Mayadhar tries to maintain the harmony between the rural modesty and the urban chaos. His works basically portrays the day to day life capturing the memories of the land where he belonged, the melancholy and celebration of the village imagery.
